  • Akira and the Miyazaki films are splendid in every way, but this one's still my bread and butter. I mean the first time I saw this film, I had that trademark Final Fantasy-esque moment, it totally changed my life! It felt as if you were in another world, but these characters are so real and the themes of the movie are so powerful I...I'm... at a lost of words...I think I'll go watch this movie again!

  • Heh, I came to this video wanting to listen to the song, only to read the comments and see that somehow, some people have changed topic to Iron Giant and CGI. :P

  • @AkiraChii28 Yes, but THE IRON GIANT was made in 1998 and this was made in 2001, and for my money it does a better job in integrating CGI with cel characters. METROPOLIS is still a good film, though.

  • @projectmolcos but this is much older tech than modern anime like Gundam and Shoujo anime!

    never mention appearances of characters.

  • Great movie, but too many obvious computer graphics. THE IRON GIANT shows them how its done...

  • @femoman However there is some debate to weather he could actually get Tima to function, or if he simply put her back together again and kept her in his shop as a monument to her. I think the latter is more commonly accepted within the people who knew of this ending. Apparently there was ment to be a scene that was left on the cutting room floor and was never seen again, but it alluded to a much better ending that was for some reason dropped.
