It's the first time in 50-some years that a steam locomotive has been to Tunkhannock. In part 2 of this video, we follow steam locomotive #425 from Jim Thorpe northbound to Tunkhannock over the Reading & Northern's Lehigh Line.

Thanks to Kyle Sanders for navigating the chase!

  • Truly exquisite imagery...especially the deck bridge/swimmers and tunnel sequence. Now that I see your mention of the BC&G 4-spot's whistle my aural memory kicks in and takes me back to Dundon... but there is some similarity to the Bonhomie & Hattiesburg Southern 2-6-2 and 2-8-2 whistles, too. Can we so "Southern" quilling?

  • yOU'D THINK THE DIESELS COULD FOLLOW BEHIND INSTEAD OF BEING IN TOW. Looks like the R&N have no confidence in their treasure.

  • @2102FAN i love that shot its classic i loved the smoke and the steam whurling around the coaches and the whistle befor exiting the tunnelAWSOME!425 is awsome

  • amazing video!!!!!!!! i was on the train that day it was very cool to ride ,but now i also got to see what the locomotive was doing when i was in teh coach.nice whistle

  • It IS the whistle off BC@G #4...and yes we are paid.

  • If I am wrong, then I apologize, I'd asked what whistle it was a couple times in the past and was always given that answer.......not trying to sound like a know-it-all or anything.

  • OK. If you say so.

    SG (425 crew member).

  • It's actually a Baltimore & Ohio 3-chime that sounds the same as one that was ONE a BC&G engine in the past...

  • is 425's crew PAID?
