@Diluted99 Alentejo its a portuguese region, its not a city made of vilages. It happends that i live in Évora. A city in Alentejo.
About the lazy steriotype its correct, but its not the only one. In my home town, near Lisbon (from where some of the actors came from), Alentejanos are often associated with gays too.

And the people from Alentejo are not seen as gay - the people from alentejo are seen as LAZY.
It's the stereotype of the people from Alentejo they are making fun of, they just put the YMCA track to be more funny but not because they wanted to represent them as being gay.
Stereotypes from the people of Alentejo usually include their accent, being lazy and things like that.
