Here is the first and best version of this song. It has that unmistakable early 1970's Billy Sherill production I love so much. I did some research on its chart history and I was surprised to discover that even though the song enjoyed a 10 week run on Billboard's Hot Country Singles chart (top 75), it only "peaked" at #51. Huh. Let me know what you think and leave a comment...

p.s. The song made its chart debut on May 27th 1972 and reached its peak on July 15th and again on July 22nd. Useless information, I know.

p.s.s. Kenny O'Dell was one of the credited writers and as you all Charlie Rich fans know, also was responsible for the songs, I Take It on Home and the classic Behind Closed Doors.

  • She has a beautiful, haunting, kind of voice. I remember when this was getting air play in the early 70's. Thank You for posting it.

  • Okay song, outstanding vocals by Sandy Posey, one of the best female Country/Pop singers.
