A long to short trendy haircut makeover and complete make-up tutorial (Jessie Jay before and after bob haircut) by celebrity hairdresser Stuart Phillips and top make-up artist Maria Foster. Kate has naturally mousy brown hair that was originally lifted to a blonde.
Watch how top colourist Lara Clark massively changes Kate's hair colour by going through the various stages from her current blonde to a powerfull blue/black.
To give it that Jessie Jay feel, celebrity hairdresser Stuart Phillips cuts a bob style outline and a blunt eyebrow length fringe, he then blow-dry's Kate's wavy hair straight.
Top make-up artist Maria Foster then applies powerful make-up which finishes off the Jessie Jay look.
Please note this is our interpretation of Jessie J, as it's very important to suit the models face shape and bone structure! We also wanted to acheive a very dramatic colour so decided to use an intense blue/black!

  • please right back: what city/country was that video in

  • @DudeTheFunny The hair video was filmed in London!

  • i have what's hopefully a quick question for you. i have waistlength thick hair naturally straight and dark since i am of asian decent. i've never had a professional haircut so i want to be sure they know what they're doing. what would be the best way for it to not poof out since it's so thick? i've cut my hair this short before but it was so thick that i just ended up in a ponytail until it was long enough to weigh itself down again. thank you for any advice for thick hair when going short.

  • @vinylspun With Asian hair that long whenever you cut shorter it will tend to go bigger and create unnecessary thickness. You would need to find a great hairdresser that can deal with your hair type and after studying your texture, face shape, etc come up with a suitable style! That would possibly mean going shorter than you want it, You may have to have long layers and possibly thin some of your hair out but it's impossible to give 100% accurate advice unless I personally look at your hair!

  • @Stuartphillipssalon I've got the exact opposite problem. I'm 100% Chinese, yet my hair is flat and thin, and there is not a whole lot of it! My hair just sticks to my head- what is a cut that will give it some body?

  • @RukiaFujioka As your hair is straight I would try and create as much texture as possible, this can give the illusion of slight movement in your hair and in turn will look little thicker. Every person's hair is so different so I would cater for the individual but as a general rule I would create lots of texture. Depending on your face shape I would possibly create some layers, this can also have a thickening effect. As I haven't seen your hair, these are just guidelines!

  • Love it

  • wow, amazi

  • now thats a make over!!

  • @hotmama5717 Hi, rather than brushing the hair Lara gently combs the colour through, this is ok to do. Everyone has slightly different methods of applying but as long as it's done gently that's absolutely fine!
