Safeway Opening Special

One of the opening specials at the new Safeway at Doncaster shoppingtown was half price toilet paper. It was so funny to watch the customers fight over the toilet paper everytime a new pallet was brought out. There was a huge argument when I first got there but I wasn't quick enough to video that one. In this video you can hear a safeway staff member calling out "limit 6" and a customer yelling "there are kids under there!" Some of the customers just couldn't understand that they were only allowed to have 6!!!

@hisoft37 yes it means they can buy a maximum of 6 packs. In the video each bundle already has 6 packs in it because the staff didn't have the chance to unpack them properly. lol

Rebranding has stopped in Victoria. Safeway will remaine in Victoria for all stores that havnt already changed due to public backlash the rumour round work is.

I doubt that the rebranding has stopped. This Safeway in the video is now a Woolworths! :) but I'm sure people will continue to call it Safeway in Victoria for a long time to come.

Not even a real Safeway. It's a Morrisons now. Safeway has not operated outside the U.S. and Canada since 2008.

well here in Australia we still have Safeway supermarkets (not related to the US brand). But they are slowly being renamed as Woolworths... but still the same company!

I hate how grocery stores will throw away all the food that gets expired because a lot of it is still good for months and months later, and there are starving people in our own country. But nooo, fucking morons with lawers have to ruin shit and make grocery stores scared of a lawsuit.
