Hatching Pete is about a boy named Pete (Jason Dolley) who is very shy. He has a best friend Poole (Mitchell Musso) who is very outgoing and is the school mascot. When the school mascot gets a new chicken suit, Poole is allergic to it. Pete must take over the part of the mascot but must still pretend to be Poole in the suit. He soon discovers that all of the kids like the mascot and trouble stirs between the friends when Poole gets all the attention, trouble brews both off and on the court in romance and competition, as the audience discovers who the real chicken is[5].
