  • The entire film is 29 minutes, so these are just some clips someone told me about. Some of these scenes end up in The Space Explorers cartoon short film.

  • The Soviet animation of 1950's—1960's is amazing: smooth, detailed, realistic. Almost every animated film was a masterpiece (especially given the poor technology of the time).

  • Boy do I remember this!

    Soyuz loved their rotoscope!

I wish the whole film was here!

  • The irony of it all! I remembered The Space Explorers when I was a kid, promoting the US space race, but never realized that it was cobbled together from Communist Russian and Nazi films

  • Fascinating. Was this the entire film or just excerpts? Some of the exterior spaceship shots seem to use models with painted backgrounds, like the Fleischers used to do.
