The irony of it all! I remembered The Space Explorers when I was a kid, promoting the US space race, but never realized that it was cobbled together from Communist Russian and Nazi films
The entire film is 29 minutes, so these are just some clips someone told me about. Some of these scenes end up in The Space Explorers cartoon short film.
Fascinating. Was this the entire film or just excerpts? Some of the exterior spaceship shots seem to use models with painted backgrounds, like the Fleischers used to do.
