@P51Enthusiast I agree with you 110% because most singers are covered up by loud background instruments drowing out the the vocals. Wasn't it wonderful when background music was just enough to compliment the singers and you could actually hear the words to the music. Ah, the good old days.

I can't believe I was at this show - still stunning!

I like the 4/4 beat of this normally 3/4 song.

I am in my early sixties, unfortunately I had never heard of Jane Froman. My husband just rented the movie with Susan Hayward 'With a Song in my Heart' and last night I discovered a most talented if not 'the most talented singer ever' doubled with a courage as powerful as her voice. Better late than never they say and in this case it is oh so true! What a voice, what a talent ...what a discovery!

Thank you somuch for posting this. Jane Froman was an amazing, courageous and generous-hearted woman with a magnificent voice that needed no gimmicks, slinky costumes, loud music or flash to make her shine. If there are angels and if they sing somewhere, Jane Froman is with them.

I am so happy to find this incredibly uplifting performance available ( after some 54 years since I once saw it on TV!!! :) Many thanks to Videox2. I appreciate your generous gifts of "live" performances by Jane Froman; you seem to be the only one able/willing to post them. I would love to help in this effort, if I can.

Was she in a leg cst at this time? In the movie it lookds as if she was casted for a long time.

I just found a signed photo to my dad from Jane Froman when she performed at the Royal Palm Club (dinner club and casino) in Miami, Florida in the late 30's early 40's. She's great. Now I know why he kept her signed photo. I have found a treasure trove of old signed photographs of performers from the late 30's and 40's. She is wonderful.

Oh I just wrote you. I can't get over how she moves...let alone sounds!
Damn where are these shows and recordings!
marknyc5, the biopic didn't tell the half of her injuries. This is from her television show, which ran 1952-'55; the movie was released in 1952. She worked her heart out to look like she'd 'recovered from leg surgery', too--- but the physical costs of the mutilation she suffered in that plane crash were something she paid every day of her life. This is a consummate professional at work.

This is why I would always change the XM radio channel to number 4 for the forties music. The artists of that time could actually sing and weren't covered up by instruments. Sadly there is none of that talent still alive today. These videos like this are priceless
