Maker bot at CES 2012

This is a two-wire FDM 3D printer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fused_deposition_modeling) being exhibited at CES. I didn't talk to the people staffing the booth, but typically these processes use two different types of material; one soft or even water-soluble, used to hold together hollow spaces during construction, and the other solid.

The models in the booth were two- or more-color, so I think this system was not configured for the traditional two-material method - I think they were just using the two feed spools to allow laying down material in different colors.
