What is Olbermann's excuse for being a "smug a-hole"?

Is it just me or does fox network use rating numbers as an excuse to be smug a-holes? It's ok to say what ever you want as long as there is a group of people that agree.
Ratings don't give you the right to be a smug a-hole. If Gibson isn't one of the worst people in the world for saying or feeling as he does, then maybe he should take the high road and do something to change the minds of those that don't blindly agree with him. Instead of acting like a child with sound effects.
