euronews.net Vlad Filat is Moldova's new prime minister. The pro-western leader took charge last month after the ruling communists were ousted in an election re-run in July. Next door to Moldova is the breakaway region of Transnistria, whose final status is still disputed. euronews met Vlad Filat in Brussels, as the newly appointed prime minister paid his first visit.

  • If you do wish to criticize me. I am Romanian as well and I have lived in the Republic of Moldova for 7 years. I know what goes on there, I have friends from there and they all agree on what I am saying.

  • Troublesome and immature little countries that wish to join the EU do not deserve incentives or the carrot and stick approach. The Republic of Moldova needs to learn to able to stand on its own two feet and needs to seriously commit itself to reform and also moving away from European and American aid packages all of the time. It is the responsibility of the Republic of Moldova to get its act together. If Republic of Moldova does not reform or get its act together in due course. No EU its simple

  • Vlad Filat is doing a horrible job at running his country, the Republic of Moldova. The Republic of Moldova economy is in tatters and is teetering on the edge of bankruptcy. Republic of Moldova is not getting better at all, instead its drifting away from the EU as more ever before. Republic of Moldova has gotten poorer since this useless shit of a government has stepped in. I am Romanian and I say that Romania shall not offer any more incentives until RM matures and gets serious about the EU
