Cherry Playthrough: Letty Whiterock (PCB Stage 1 Lunatic)

Letty (what a horribly simple name) is the stage 1 boss of the game Perfect Cherry Blossom, the 7th installment of the Touhou Project. The Touhou Project is a series of danmaku games where the first stages boss (except for Nazrin) are victims to the cruelty of mankind and their evil.

Sorry for not posting this earlier, but I was looking at my Touhou doujin collection. Holy shit those 8 GB of doujin are a lot of comics. The thing is most character in PCB that don't have a name that starts with the letter "Y" doesn't appear to have that many "great" doujins revolving about them. Most of Letty's revolve around Cirno. Most of Chen are CHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN sort of thing. In the case of Alice she's more love struck than Cirno. And true to their species, the Prismrivers just kind of... are. As for Lily and Ran... meh. Lily is not that famous and Ran is doomed by Yukari. Case is, I don't think I will be recommending a lot of doujins this time around. I'm sure they exist. I don't know them. You can always recheck Advent Cirno for a Zack-like Letty if you want.

Anyways, Letty is a yuki-onna, youkai of winter that supposedly are of unnatural beauty and aggressive towards human. Although in Letty's case it seems to be more the other way around. One of the most common gag with Letty is her physique. She has an above average hitbox... if your average only consist of the stick figures that are Chen and Alice. Either way this shows in two flavors in fanon: either she's morbidly fat or morbidly well endowed. Personally I like to think she regularly endowed if a little above average, but mostly plump. Not skinny or even regular for a woman who do exercise, but not fat. After all, she sleeps through the entire year until winter. That cannot be good for your figure.

Another invention of fandom is that she's Cirno's friend/mentor. Actually, there's a comic that says that every time winter comes, is like she erases the slate and starts from zero. Pretty sad for Cirno. Canonically, her relationship with Cirno is as well defined as anything ZUN does that isn't music or patterns, and that last one is a big maybe. Apparently, in canon, she abhor the idea of being grouped with Cirno. And that's one of the reason I'm a faithful believer of Fanon is Canon. Screw ZUN perception. Letty was just having... a bad day when Aya interviewed her. I mean, she was recently beaten. Cirno and Letty are pals, I tell you, PALS DX

Anyways, the stage itself is fairly standard. Nothing wow. The first group of fairies, as you can see, are laughable at best. Cirno is an adequate 1st stage midboss. Letty is... cool I guess. Ok, sorry for the pun (still the lowest of the highest though). To be honest the only Stage 1 bosses to ever wow me are Nazin and... wait for it... Yuyuko. Go figures ^_^'

Another thing about PCB: Damn is hard finding music for it. The music is so good is hard to find anything that makes justice. And as the stage progress, it just gets harder. I'm overall satisfied, doesn't mean is easy. Also, look at this priceless Letty face:

That's probably how I should feel when looking for pictures, but the internet harden people. It makes men out of children, men out of women, and... something out of men. That's why all "children" are FBI agent and all women are men. I suppose the proportion of saucy Letty picture (considering I always use the rating:s tag) is somewhat high, but then again we are talking about fat Letty here and she's no blonde. I'm saying this because I'm sure I had a comment about searching image for Letty, but cannot remember.

Oh, and one more thing about the music: taste is my new Ezel-ash or Jun.A. In other words, I LOVE his/her/it work.
