Natalie Chaidez, the American writer who wrote this script

really defined Los Macheteros as a dogmatic, one dimensional organization. The word terrorist is used loosely and demonized Puerto Rican independence.

It is interesting to note that Filiberto Ojeda Rios leader of Los Macheteros was executed by the FBI on September 23, 2004.
