  • If you are ONLY changing the mufflers with aftermarket ones, you won't be gaining much of a weight loss. For hp gain, you'll need to decat the bike and spend another $300-$400 for PC5 to rejet.

Basically you'll be gaining sound with $800+. But you won't be drilling and spending hours for the job.

Baffles are cheap and will give the exact same result if not better.

Downside: Gotta get down and dirty with it. And it will still look the same stock exhausts(which i think are cool)

  • @R1Rider2009 Stocks on 09+ R1s are light weight compared to competition 1000cc bikes. If you are ONLY changing the mufflers with aftermarket ones, you won't be gaining much of a weight loss. For hp gain, you'll need to decat the bike and spend another $300-$400 for PC5 to rejet.

I have the A&R baffles genius; and no, they do not compare to aftermarket slip-ons. The stock cans are ugly and heavy. Aftermarket systems do sound better as well. I only chose to go with the baffles to save money for law school. I am not illusioned to believe they are any better just because I chose to put them on my bike. They are what they are, nothing more.

  • @R1Rider2009 Why not? You gut the stock Yamaha titanium cans and replace with a straight through perforated pipe with same packing used in "high end" exhausts.

I guess if you are retarded, and can't pack a muffler properly, you get a shitty result... Is the titanium Yamaha uses not good enough for you? Sure you save a little weight with smaller cans or CF, but the $1375 I saved was put to better things.

  • @810Z

You can not compare a $125 baffle kit to $1,500 slip-ons....

  • Got it on my bike. Sounds pretty damn good for the price, I mean come on guys.

  • Yeah, with the proper tools.

  • Sounds Siick!

  • sounds sick man! SUPERMOTO kinda sound! got the same baffles in my 07 check my vid. hard to hear behind the music... and def doesnt sound as baddass as the 09's!

  • i think both sound pretty damn good
