Did the family law court in Singapore even recognise the best interest of the child and listen to what the child wants, or is it because children were not supposed to be heard by adults back then?
@BaByChOc0 looking at how she's living over these years, seems she was unhappy and not contented with her life in the Netherlands. So, looking at her life over the years, to whom should she stayed with? I think she should have stayed with her foster mother. I understand that her biological parents were in dire needs to protect Natrah/Maria from racial attacks, but they rather have her, sad depressive with them than leaving her with Che Aminah, being happy.
wth why doesn't the child get a say???all they say is law law law and religion religion religion....shouldn't she get to choose what she wants...she is the one who should get to choose who she wants to be with heck care law it should not have even been brought up to court....
@starrynight97jb when we talk about custody, we should consider about the child's rights to be with the ones he or she is most emotionally linked too. you have to remember she was raised completely in a malay culture environment; dutch culture will be foreign to her. she didn't even speak dutch as a child. but i also completely understand the feelings of her biological parents. it's too hard to tell.
In any custody battle nobody wins. It's the children who are suffering. Enough examples of it in later years in any part of the world.
