Sri Ma sings , very likely in Calcutta in 1956. The sound is added later, and if anyone can lip-read Sri Ma and advise her words, it may be possible to match the pictures to sound.

  • I wonder if the guy with the big smile just to Ma's left who motions to someone is Shree Shree Anandamayee Sangha, who was the contractor of the ashrams for Ma?

  • @tobesograteful

If you mean the sadhu with the shaven head, that is Swami Paramananda, who indeed was responsible for a lot of the ashram temples. He passed away a year or two after Sri Ma

  • do you know the song, please?

  • @sarahmonki

I regret I cannot read what Sri Ma is singing. I simply dubbed on a kirtan as appropriate as possible.

    Jai Ma

  • Thanks for your note.I did not know who it was. It may be him, though there is no obvious likeness from the photos posted on Google. I would not want to confirm that on the video without some definite evidence though.

Apradh ko kshama karo aur bura hua to sudharo!

(translated it means "Forgive crime and misdeeds. And repair all the evil that you have done by self-improvement)

here is one link to the song so if anyone can write whole lyrics

  • Namaste, this is beautiful. Jai Ma

  • @tobesograteful

The person is Swami Parmanandji who was one of the closest desciples and was one of the founder members of Shree Shree Ma Anandamoyy Sangha.

  • Jai Ma, Bout Sundar!

  • And what's up with Bengal? First Sri Chaitanya deva, then Sri Ramakrishna Paramhamsa and then Maa! It would seem Jagannatha is very selfish. He doesn't send His empowered incarnations anywhere else!

  • I genuinely believe that Sri Maa falls in the category of saints which constitutes of Sri shankaracharya, Sri Buddha, Sri Surdas, etc. I mean they talked about Nirvikaar and Nirgun Brahm but from the inside, they were only concerned with lovingly remembering Sri Hari's pastimes! How curious and wonderful it makes me feel. It's amusing - to say the least - when I read accounts of Sri Maa falling into bhava samadhi during Hari naam.
