"You need to build fretting hand strength for playing barre chords" is a myth. You can do it now. Use leverage and common sense to attain proper hand position and allow development of finger dexterity.

  • Buddy!! You're a life saver!! Been finishing songs with thumb not touching the guitar because of a cramp for 40 years. Will see in a week if there is a negative, but I doubt it. I'll be mixing strength and technique from now on, and am trying to adjust leverage wit a simple wrist twist to switch the angle from left to right and back. Day 1. Has this interfered with playing at all or is this 100% good? Thanks again!! You're the best!!
