Performed by the Saint Xavier University Women's Ensemble, Carolyn Brady Riley, director, and Monica Kropidlowski, accompanist, the Bill Condon and Bob Fosse stage version of "Chicago" inspired the 2002 film of the same name and won 6 Oscars. It starred Catherine Zeta-Jones, Renee Zellweger, Richard Gere, Queen Latifah, and John C. Reilly to name a few. It was said to be one of the best selling movie-musicals of all time. Murderesses Velma Kelly (a chanteuse and tease who killed her husband and sister after finding them in bed together) and Roxie Hart (who killed her boyfriend when she discovered he wasn't going to make her a star) find themselves on death row together and fight for the fame that will keep them from the gallows in 1920s Chicago.
