Survey Nation is extremely proud to present our first video that includes English subtitles. We are very interested in your reaction to subtitling. Please let us know by commenting or sending us a message. Depending on reaction from the YouTube community we will determine if addtional subtitled videos will be offered.

Survey Nation goes to the streets of San Francisco during the April 9, 2008 disrupted Olympic Torch Relay to get the story you won't see on CNN, FOX, CBS, NBC, ABC, or any mainstream media. We talked directly to the people who were there about the important issues raised by the upcoming Summer Games in Beijing, shooting over two and a half hours of video.

In order to give you the best possible coverage, we will be presenting a series of shows from this event that focus on a variety of topics including the policies and practices of the Chinese government, human rights, the crises in Tibet and Darfur, a potential US boycott, the politicization of the Olympic games, and, most importantly, the American right to free speech. We will let the people speak for themselves on the important issues that matter most to them.

We understand that these issues are highly emotional and potentially divisive, but we encourage you to view each episode in the spirit of worldwide harmony, openness, and diversity that is at the heart of Olympic ideals.

In this episode, Survey Nation speaks directly to China supporters at the Olympic Torch Relay in San Francisco who vehemently defend their country and the controversy over Tibet. They present a historical view on the origins of the Tibet crisis that significantly contrasts with those normally held by the Free Tibet movement. These individuals provide unique insight into the opinions of Chinese nationals who have made the US their home while maintaining a patriotic love, respect, and devotion for their homeland. These individuals maintain that change is needed but must come from inside China and not forced by outside influence or political pressure.

  • There doesn't seem to be any CCP propaganda that some young Chinese people won't believe and regurgitate.

For the record, Tibet abolished the death penalty and cruel and unusual punishments in 1913. Post 1913, the few cases of cruel and unusual punishment were in violation of the law. The CCP on the other hand is world champion practitioner of the death penalty.

  • ok so what about the ccp govt killing the tibetan??? huh?? thts so stupid the lady knows nothing about the atrocities commited by china on the tibetans??? and my parents have always told me dont be angrfy toeards chinese ppl and that you should be nice to them but after seeing this im very disspointed that some of these chinese ppl are just echoeing every propaganda line tht ccp uses against tibet.

  • 0:10 "MANY PEOPLE, MANY FOREIGN PEOPLE". I stopped the video there. bye bye. I was about to see very very disturbing human beings a.k.a. carbon copied propagandists.
