Yad Vashem. Holocaust Memorial

I visited Yad Vashem on the Israeli Holocaust Day (Yom HaShoah, in 2011 it was April 30, but because of the sabbath the state ceremony took place on Monday, May 2), when the restrictions on taking photos & videos were released. Hence, much of my footage registers the archive materials shown in the museum. Despite their poor quality, the live views of the happy kids in the pre-war shtetls vis-à-vis the well known pictures of their future fate present the shocking evidence of the Jewish holocaust.

January 27, which marks the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, was designated by the UN as International Day of Holocaust Remembrance.
