  • I wrote this song about Jimmy back in '99. It was first released on Farrell & Black: Black Limousine. It later came out on a Muffin Men CD. Jimmy and I toured together for almost seven years. Man, I wish that old Indian was still with us! RIP my man. Thinkin' about you all the time.

  • Met him a couple of times over the years when he was here in the UK with the Muffin Men, a real gentleman, the coolest man I've ever met.

  • A San Diego boy, we managed to catch a few of those early MOI shows. When I saw "200 Motels," I had to go back the next day and see it again, uninebriated, just to make sure that I actually saw what I thought I'd seen. It was (or, rather, he was) bigger than life. Since then, I've been among that cowboy's most enthusiastic fans! Sorry I missed your bon voyage, bro, having been in a fierce struggle to avert my own mortality at the time.

  • Great having been his friend and music partner. I only wish there were LIGHTS on my side, that night in Denver!!

  • @TheEnormousPianist sorry of course it was Geronimo Black.

  • cool! Many years ago I saw Jimmy Carl Black and his band (Blackhawks?) played at my high school South High In Torrance, ca and they were pretty fun like this in this clip.

  • @elliotssleeping I met him in Derby in 92 I think it was, when he was touring with the Grandmothers. A nice chap, my mate asked him, "would you be the indian of the group" and he took a slow draw on his cigarette and replied, "I would" much to everyones amusement. Sadly missed.

  • Also just found about Jimmy's passing! Jimmy and the guys stayed with me around 10 years ago for a week in Haywards Heath UK and did a memorable gig in the local pub with Arthur Brown!! terrific! I still wear the watch he sold me! RIP JCB,

  • Great song, great subject and grated cheese. Where's my waitress?

  • !? That sucks man. I'm way behind on all this info. It's a sad day today. The OG Muthas were amazing. And the new incarnation is killing it today!
