The tank APC distinction is quite small compared to the Chinese / Nepalese or Indian police distinction, and if they could show a photo of an Indian police and call him a Chinese police, a little tank/APC swap is pale in comparison.

Wrong again. APC are used in riots to shelter the occupants of the police. They are NOT used offensively. They're also used to safely carry injured out of places where terrorists are burning and rolling cars and throwing rocks.
