The Wii Outdoor Game

Assignment:
Design a new way of gaming. Let people experience the gaming community from the outdoors, in nature.

Project Term:
teamwork with final presentation & model

Problem:
The problem with computer gaming today is, it needs screens.
They require us to be staring at a screen. They need us to be in special places
Mobility, Immersion and effortless interaction are key to the future of gaming.

Dream about running side - by - side with Usain Bolt?

Use the intuitive palm straps with the information fed from the Urban Performance, sensor - injected sport shoes - all displayed on the heads-up display of your augmented reality - visor. Play with your friends around the world, using smart phone technologies.

You pick the sport, you pick the venue - with UP - your Urban Performance.
The only thing you have to get used to is the audience!

functions follows form! Der typische Designer-Fehler.

Man merkt, dass ihr Design-Studenten seid, ansonsten würde man den Beschreibungstext im Video lesen können. Der ist viel zu klein und zudem auch noch schräg. Man sieht, dass ihr kein UX gelernt habt.

I'm beginning to think this is a gimmick. I know the video was just uploaded today, but interviews and articles etc seem to precede clip releases like this. I haven't found anything online besides one interview in like '07 that hinted at AR tech. Quite intriguing at any rate. I'm dying to see where this goes.

Did Nintendo finally do it already? Is immersive AR a reality? I didn't think we were there yet with visor technology, at least not on the consumer level. This is truly wild.
