The Puzzle Of Life - Science vs Creationism

As an outsider (non-American), it's both scary and hilarious that there needs to be a YouTube video like this in 2011. The science in this video is grade-school knowledge over here... but maybe not in America? The only reason why there would have to be "debates" or discussions about creationism vs a science-based world view seems to be that the influence of religious groups is still very severe. Hopefully it will reduce naturally over time. Good luck (from Europe).

"atheism is a pessimistic philosophy"
The sun burning us all up in a few billion years is kind of pessimistic, too, but wouldn't you rather base your life on reality?
-
@romney27 "atheism is a pessimistic philosophy"
Once more a "definition" from your santa's dictionary? :D
Should I prefer the delusion of religious wishful thinking?
-
or in other words FreeSillo...."keep fucking that chicken". if I can say that without bruising your tender wit, I do.
-
@Free unsurprisingly predictable as I suspected. your prowess is a little peter barely if at all.
I guess that would explain your fondness for assumption & invoking projection.... atheism is a pessimistic philosophy at best which runs contrary to the inherent nature of the human condition and mans need to make emotional connections by telling stories in order to create meaningful memories. Asking a behavioral biologist would verify that fact, but instead you witlessly wallow in adjectives. next

@romney27 The only fallacy I've seen is your strawman argument, when you said "atheism is pure intolerance", despite I explained you the correct meaning of the term.
If that is the definition you find on your dictionary I can guess you really got it from Santa! :D
-
@FreeSilio that is laughable.... atheism is pure intolerance. I know you atheist don't go around respecting any one else beliefs. I think you should ask santa for a dictionary for Christmas.
I think ignorance is an adjective only rebuttal with no meat. You'd have to have the gumption to back up any of that with merit, but clearly you have none. I bet you cite fallacy names as fallacy...lo

@romney27 NO. atheism is simply the rejection of unsupported claims about gods, so it is exactly the opposite of bigotry and ignorance.
I know you "believers" like to project on other people your own defects, but doing this makes you much more irrational and silly than you still are for your baseless "faith".
-
@FreeSilio and atheism is just a form of bigotry, also ignorant.
@Killedkennyagain Agreed, but that's irrelevant to the purpose of this video, which is to show how religion was born from a pre-scientific mindset and it's been working (and still is) for centuries against the progress of human knowledge.
The fact that Aristarcus discovery has been covered up for that many centuries only reinforces the argument.

@Killedkennyagain Yes, but Aristarcus (that's the right spelling) theory was not taken in serious consideration until the modern era, although based on good evidence.
His writings, anyway, did not arrive to us because they contraddicted the christian superstition, which was for all the middle age the source of our culture (or better: the base of our ignorance!).
Christians didn't burn only people, but ideas too (E.g.: the destruction of Alexandria Library in 3rd century made by "saint" Cyril).
