I also met Michael a couple of times, and in 1994 at a show of his at The Ark in Ann Arbor Mich I actually got him to sign my guitar, very special moment for me.

michael was not an avid drug user. i know he experimented with pot as a youth, but im pretty sure he was just really into meditation/yoga and the like as an adult. his death was not drug related.

i dont think michael did drugs, there were some tests made on his blood after the crash to see if he was under the influence of drugs during the moment of the crash
