Using a Bum Rope on a Foal - Learning to Lead.

doesnt she walk without the silly rope around her ass ? its not that its bad what u are doin , but I think that she will walk without it ass well , I see u are working with a rope halter so u must think natural , what is natural about a bum rope ? have u tried without it allready ?

Of course she could walk without the rope, the video was taken to "demonstrate" what a bum rope is and how it is used.

Not everyone who uses a rope halter is a "natural" enthusiast, we certainly arent, we use a variety of different methods.

And in the end if you are doing anything with a horse other than killing and eating it you really cant claim to be doing things "naturally". ;)

the idea is to not hurt the babies face by tugging on it, instead the pressur to move forward is placed on her butt. Common sense.

Very good point stretch!! I have found that you cannot and should not soley rely on one training method as all horses have individual personalities. I found a combo of natural and pinnell's methods to be very effective for me. :)
