This is actually the second version of this video. The original didn't have a good frame-rate to it, here is the second version. This is the Star Trek The Original Series opening recreated in Bridge Commander using WileyCoyote's JJ-USS Enterprise. Credits: WileyCoyote for the JJ-Prise; Alexander Courage for the Star Trek music; William Shatner for the narration.

  • This doesn't have a very good framerate either--it's still too jumpy. Also, when the Enterprise is in warp drive, it's not going nearly fast enough.

  • @PCCphoenix Holy crap, constructive criticism! *gasp!* Yeah, I know the framerate sucks. Sadly, there's very little I can do about that. If someone with a better rig than mine could take a crack at it, they could probably do better.

  • i have proof that that abrams is going to cave in roberto orci gave an interview to HitFix at the sandiego comic-con here is an extract of that We have designers working on the Enterprise and what could change. read into that what you will for% 100 proof see trekweb.com or google star trek xii

  • @luigi19987 That's not proof. Orci later commented to TrekMovie that what he meant was that we're going to see new sections of the ship that we hadn't before.

  • @Anduril74871 it is true there redesigning the ship itself and showing off other locations and also redesigning the main title

  • @luigi19987 "Perhaps i should clarify. We will see new sections of the Enterprise, not necessarily redesigning, though." Direct from Bob Orci, courtesy of Trek Movie.com.

  • Jesus Christ, it's a nice video and all some people can do is insult the guy who probably went to a lot of trouble to make it. Petulant haters have no place in the ethos of Star Trek. If you don't like it, then feck off and make your own videos with whatever version of the Enterprise you like.

Actually, you want to know why the franchise was in trouble? The people on here are prime example. Stuck up nerds who talk shit on the internet and can't handle any change.

  • @Anduril74871 Very nice video. Just ignore the haters - they're stuck in the past and can't handle changes. And let's face it, some people just love to have a bitch about anything. Gene Roddenberry would have been very happy to watch this vid and the new movie, and to know that the vision of Star Trek (which isn't about obsessing over trivia) is still popular 40 years on.

  • Very nice, It's rare to see one my old planet textures in a trek fan vid- sweet! :)

  • In Germany Bones is called "Pille" what means Pill!

  • Bridge Commander! nicely done ;-)

  • Looks and sounds like the opening to "Star Trek: The Animated Series"!!!!!

  • After all these years of waiting for the studio to come out with an 'origins' movie for the Trek characters, the Abrams treatment was a disappointment. It really ISN'T a Trek movie if you consider the fact that the entire plot takes place in an alternate universe. So, I'm still waiting for an 'origins' movie with the original characters and the original Enterprise. Are listening, fan-film producers?

  • I wish they would ues the old Enterprise and redo the inside would be ok as we are not in the 60's era tech

  • @luigi19987 Well done, i really like it, fan since about 1975.

  • @jimbopumbapigsticks He wrote it to CBS you nut. It was published for fans 2 years later.
