Honda Torneo/Accord SiR DOHC VTEC engine sound test

Just purchased this car and i think im being paranoid about the noise of the engine. Is that what the engine is meant to sound like or does it sound like somethings wrong? It's a cold start.

spray brake cleaner around the intake manifold and see if it revs... you ahve a common problem with that motor... the intake manifold gasket leaks after the swap.

theres nothing wrong with the engine man. i have a prelude with an f20. sounds the exact same

agreed sounds like a vacuum leak. And the engine just sounds like it has a little bit of age on it maybe oil change engine cleaner, belt dressing that should quiet it down a little

Man just put high octane fuel, i got one Accord SIR CF4 and sound just like yours when got 90 octane fuel, put 97 octane fuel. and enjoy!!

Sounds like a vacuum leak... Go get it compression checked at your local dealer...
