Take a wiff on me. This album was out in vinyl then CD and now I can't find it anywhere. Why doesn't Rounder release it through Amazon in Mp3? Well, until then, here you go.
I bid on this album on ebay about 12 years ago. Another bidder from the UK got it, recorded it to mp3 and sent me the album. It is a fantastic album. I heard that they played on The Andy Griffith Show long ago live, occasionally
The worst thing that ever happened to Clarence is he never got to grow old like Bill Monroe. He made me love bluegrass when nobody I knew did. I hope he has a magnificent headstone shaped like a guitar.
Discovered this guy after he was already gone--my loss. I heard he got hit by some damn car out in Calif. while packing instruments in a car trunk. Anyway, I never heard anybody who could flatpick any better.
Despite the picture, I understand that Clarence's style generaly included a shirt, as well as a flatpick and guitar. The final 2 being particularly integral to his sound. I also hear that he had a small, foetal sort of appendage growing from the middle of his back that he would use to scratch his ass while playing. Apparently being able to relieve himself from this potent distraction freed his playing in many ways.
@dickass1234 no, but he did play with Clarence White - see Muleskinner Live and Muleskinner-A Potpourri of Bluegrass Jam...
