Strasburg Railroad - 1906 Baldwin 4-8-0 Locomotive - Dec. 30, 2009

A few video clips from my ride on #475 at the Strasburg Railroad in Pennsylvania. This beauty is a 1906 Baldwin 4-8-0 steam locomotive that ran like a dream. You see it briefly towards the end of the video taking a siding to couple to the other end of the train to take us back to the station. You'll see in that clip that I was riding in the dining car. The food in the dining car was simple but delicious. Overall a very nice 45 minute ride.

@csgptg I haven't ridden in their First Class car (yet) but, according to their literature, "The $35 fare includes First-Class accommodations on the Parlor Car and complimentary wine, cheese and crackers. Other beverages available for purchase."

i sure hope i do get a chance to ride the dining car next time i go up to strasburg. I got one more question, i heard about their deluxe cars had a food selection too. Do they have like wines and cheeses or something, or is there a bit more to that?

@csgptg I'm sorry. I tried to post the link to their menu but I guess YouTube didn't allow it. They have a web site that lists the entire menu though. Have fun if you go.

@csgptg they serve stuff like hot turkey and pork sandwiches, prime rib, chicken and mozzarella cheese wraps, and bowls of homemade soup.

That would be a 4-8-0, not a 2-8-0
