R.I.P. Chirpy Cockatiel

One night I came home early and saw Chirpy all frightened and startled up going from one side of the cage to the other. I let him out and he did the same. Once I got him calmed down I could tell he was out of balance walking. So the next day when I wake up I check on him and notice he cant walk at all. So I take him to the vet and they put him on some medicine, but a few hours later he starts having seizures so I take him back. Well then came the bad news...... I had to put Chirpy down because I didn't want him to have pain, and it didn't look like he was going to make it. As I write this I am still crying 3 hrs. after I had to put him down. He also had a big bruise on his head. I hope Chirpy is in a good place, but wish I didn't have to loose him at all.................

Thanks Megan. I still do really miss Chirpy, and I am down to 10 meltdowns a day. But he was buried yesterday at Black Hills Parrot Welfare, which made me feel much better.
