This is the LT1 in my 9c1 Caprice running and revving a little. As you can see, it has a Corvette-style cold-air intake with a cone filter.

  • guys thats not a 5.7l lt1 thats a 4.3l its a lt1 but not the 5.7l

  • @powerpuncher1 Really? How can you tell? Especially considering the L99 (4.3l)and LT1(5.7l) are visually identical with the only differences being internal (bore and stroke). Figuring that I owned the car and you didn't, I think I would know what motor was in it. The SPID label had the LT1 option code listed and the car had factory dual exhaust at one point so it was most definitely an LT1 car.

  • whered you get that intake? im lookin for one like that for my lt1

  • Made it out of the inlet tube off a camaro I think, just band clamps attatching it to the throttle body and MAF sensor, and an off-the-shelf Spectre air filter. Cost less than $35 all together.

  • thats badass, ive seen something like that on a '96 impala before. you think thats any better than an elbow intake?

  • @low72 Never really did any sort of comparison. Would probably flow even better with a ram-air setup, but those fiberglass hoods are a little priceyfor me. RAISS makes a short-ram kit with an air dam and ducting you can hook up to a ram-air hood if it's in your budget.
