I've often heard that natural gas supplies are on the decline as this video seems to confirm. Does anyone have an explanation for T. Boone Pickens claims that we are "awash" in natural gas???
I think this idea that the suburbs will end is ridiculous, every city in the WORLD has suburbs Paris, London Hong Kong, Tokyo, Seoul, the difference with those suburbs is that they have a more intricate mass transit network and a more walkable style of living, these things were done to the car eccentric suburbs, driving would become an option, not a necessity.
This Presentation is must watch for everyone; and it compliments another must watch presentation called "CRASH COURSE" by Chris Materson.
We are in for some really really interesting (possibly dangerous) times! To all those entrepreneurs who can meet the challenge society will need you more than ever!
I think some peak oil experts are a bit too doomerish, and that humans will adapt regardless of what happens-- the world isn't going to end. Lifestyles will change, sure, but I just don't think all of this is going to happen as quickly as some proclaim. But to say Peak Oil is a myth is a bit foolish. It's a finite resource that peaked back in the 70's in the United States, it's only a matter of time before it does everywhere else as well.
I know what you saying, but I wish I could remember where I read or heard about the oil cos it's bugging me now! If I find it I'll send you a msg and you can let me know what you think. Peace
Well of course not; but a few billion PEOPLE might. We will adapt as a SPECIES, but it might just suck really, really hard for a whole bunch of individuals.
We all die in the end, it's just a matter of when and how. And difficult times have been faced by the human race numerous times. Extinction is certainly a possibility, just doesn't seem very likely at this point-- I simply don't agree with the fast crash scenarios.
