Global oil peak and the inevitable decline of fossil fuels are upon us now, Are today's suburbs destined to become the slums of the future? This is a short version of "The End of Suburbia: Oil Depletion and the Collapse of The American Dream", a documentary about the end of the age of cheap oil.

@noodles91380 True but the question is. When will this peak be reach? Will it be in this lifetime or the next generation? If energy consumption is faster than energy creation/output, then this might not be propaganda after all. Yes, I do believe in finite resources.
Even if there are billions of gallons untouched, how does that make Peak Oil a myth? It is a finite resource, is it not? If you believe it is a finite resource, than a peak exists, even if it's many many years away. If you do not believe it is a finite resource, than you are foolish.
Great video!! I do believe these people were a little optimistic seeing all fossil fuels will be gone in less than 30 - 40 years (oil, natuaral gas, and coal) If you do not believe this just use wiki they do most the math for you. Oh,and less than 8 years left in US oil reserves. hard to defend ourelves running on a military with no oil, When will our government decide to make sure that does not happen. last 7 years????
I can see a few reasons for the plentiful gas right now: 1. When an oil field is almost empty it releases gas - and a lot of old fields are almost empty 2. There has been massive investment in producing gas from small sources to make up for the missing oil
The extraction profile of gas is such that it can go to max output in a moment - however - when its empty the decline is just a steep - minus 30% a year is not uncommon
However, this is likely to only last a few years.
I've often heard that natural gas supplies are on the decline as this video seems to confirm. Does anyone have an explanation for T. Boone Pickens claims that we are "awash" in natural gas???

I Dare say I am not very optimistic
