I think he meant too 'pretty' in terms of making a Hollywood production. Making it believable, to people who aren't used to transgenders, that it's NOT a woman playing a man, even though it is.

The suspension of disbelief gets lazy when you know the person playing the part is a woman, and when they obviously look like a woman. It's not that there aren't transgender people who could look like Ms. Universe, it's that if you're portraying a gritty movie and probably want that reflected.
