Injuries and Illnesses: A Jonas Family Story~Chapter 13

recap: Kevin is having a peace day, Joe and Lexi are both sick (still), Nick and Dani went to school, at dinner there was fuss over Lexi.

Kevins POV
It was getting late now, so I proceded up the stairs. I walked into Joe and Nick's room to make sure they were at least in bed. Joe was peacefully sleeping, and he seemed to be getting his tanner complexion back. Nick was still up, reading a book for his English course.
"Nick, buddy, it's almost eleven. Its time for bed," I said softly.
"But Kevin! I'm almost done!" Nick whined.
"Nicholas, you have to get rest. You're still a little ill," I sternly stated. Nick sighed and snuggled into his bed, closing his eyes. I turned off the light and went down the hall to Dani and Lexi's room.

Poor little Lexi was laying in bed. Whe was as pale as her white sheets, and she looked so helpless. I also noticed that she was skinnier. I was getting really worried about her. Dani was also sleeping. She must have had a long day in high school. I flicked off their lights and went to my room, where I fell asleep.

"beep beep!! beep beep!!"

My alarm went off Tuesday morning at six am. I had school today, my fisrt class being at seven thirty in the morning. Tuedsdays were the days that I could not help in the mornings. I quickly got a shower and got dressed before grabbing my car keys and driving thirty minutes to the community colledge I attended.

Joes POV
Lexi and I were home alone today. I think Andee is supposed to come around noon, but its only nine right now. I layed on the couch and watched television while Lexi slept upstairs. She came down shortly saying how hungry and thirsty she was.

"JOE! MAKE ME FOOD NOW!!" she demanded, angry and iritated.
"Woah! Calm down! You're thirteen. You can make yourself food!" I said. I was feeling to ill to be cooking food. I couldn't even think about food without feeling nauseated. My mom had said I had a really bad flu that would go away in a week or so. Puking for an enitre week with a high fever. Wow! I was lucky!
"JOE!!! IM HUNGRY!!" Lexi complained, shouting although she was in the same room I was.
"No need to scream Lex. Can you just order yourself a pizza. I cant even think about food, I feel so sick." I pleaded.
"UGH! Fine! You'd probably burn the house down anyway!" she said, iritation lingering in her voice. She stomped off to the kitchen and ordered herself a pizza.

The pizza finally arrived and she ate all eight slices. She also finished a gallon of lemonade, yet she looked as if she had lost weight instead of gaining it. She said she started to feel nauseated and a bit dizzy, so she went up to her room to lay down. I fell asleep on the couch.

I woke up around one pm to the sound of Andee's voice.
"Joe, wake up sweety. Its one in the afternoon and I have to take your temperature," she soothingly said.
"I dun feel good," I whined, opening my eyes to the bright, sun filled room.
"I know sweety. Let me take your temperature alright?"
"UGh! fine!" I mumbled, as she stuck the thermometer in my mouth. A minute or so later it beeped.
"Tsk. 102.6" she mumbled to herself, although I could hear her.
"Im sleepy Andee," I grogily whined.
"Alright, just get some rest. Im gunna go check on Lexi," she said, walking out of the room.

As I was about to fall asleep, I heard a scream coming from upstairs. I knew something had to be wrong with Lexi. I darted up the stairs although getting up so fast made me dizzy, and I ran into Lexi's bedroom. When I got into the room, I broke out in tears. Andee was on the phone with 911 and Lexi was unconsious. This could not be happening. No my little sister.

Is Lexi alright?
Will Joe feel better soon?
What will the family say when they find out about Lexi?
