Big Mike gave a stunning vocal on "This Woman's Work" by Maxwell. Kara being brought to tears was only like 2% Kara being weird and dramatic and needing attention. The other 98% was legit. Michael picked a very difficult song and pulled it off effortlessly. His falsetto and his one big note at the end were particularly stellar. It's actually a shame that at this point they cram eight performers into an hour because I would've liked to hear more of Michael on this song. The snippet we heard wasn't nearly what he could've done with it if he could've built it up and really told a story. It's exciting to think about what he'll do with the theme nights.

@Pam4Rob psh,, its freakin tv and american idol is retarded .. she cries all the time, even just once is all the time for tv. they are there to judge the singing performance not how it relates to you not having kids or whatever .. things like pitch, good use of vibrato, stage presence and over all performance .. this over dramatic crying shit is just a distraction

Been watching the show forever and this is easily in the top 10 male performances of all seasons. Mike was a pro amongst amateurs on this night. Very talented man!!

I love Big Mike. He's amazing. His vocals in this song is amazing. How he can hit those notes is something that is indiscribable. Good job Big Mike!

ya know I really have to disagree with who posted this video, what he/she wrote about Kara in the underbar was just distasteful. You don't know how that song affects her, or what she goes thru in her life. I myself cant have kids, that song affected me just about the same way it did Kara. I can't stand when people do that, saying someone was being over dramatic because of something like that. I mean really??
