Waterproof makeup

After i did my talk about money and makeup i got LOTS of questions about waterproof makeup.

So here is a list of the products that i use where water can be a problem.

NOTE: Not all products are waterproof but water resistant, so bare that in mind and make amendments where necessary. There is also a wealth of information below about potential issues that can arise. If you're a makeup artist and doing someone's makeup you need to be clear about what can and cannot be accomplished with waterproof/water resistant makeup.

Products i use in my kit for weddings:

1. Make Up For Ever aqua eye pencils (waterproof)
2. Make Up For Ever aqua lip pencils (waterproof)
3. Make Up For Ever lip pencils (not waterproof but very long lasting and huge compared to most pencils)
3. Make Up For Ever rouge artist (not waterproof, but the pigment is so strong and the staying power so good i use them)
5. Make Up For Ever mist & fix (not waterproof but can prolong make up wear - check for shine can be applied before makeup to help prolong)
4. Make Up For Ever face and body foundation (water resistant)
5. Make Up For Ever aqua cream (waterproof - good for eyes, lips, checks, etc...)
6. Make Up For Ever aqua black (waterproof - good for eye lining etc...)
7. Make Up for ever eye sealer (waterproof)
8. Make Up for ever eyeshadows and pigments (not water proof but the pigmentation means they last longer)
9. Make Up for ever hd blush (not water proof but great under airbrush foundation)
10. Make up for ever black pigment (to use with aqua smokey lash mascara to deepen the lashes - not waterproof but helps to make the mascara stick more - i only use this when i use fake lashes - YOU MUST CHECK FOR POTENTIAL TO SMEAR WHEN CRYING - if in doubt don't use)
11. Make Up for ever aqua smokey lash mascara (waterproof)
12. Make Up for ever super lip gloss (not waterproof but its lasts and lasts and lasts - note - very very sticky - think glue)
13. Dinair air brush foundation (water resistant)
14. Dinair paramedical airbrush foundation (waterproof)
15. Dinair airbrush shimmers/blush etc... (water resistant)
16. Dinair mosit and dewy (water resistant - beware of excess shine)
17. OCC airbrush foundation (water resistant)
18. OCC shimmers airbrush (water resistant)
19. Kett Hydro Proof airbrush foundation (waterproof - matte - be warned)
20. Kett Fixx Creme foundation (waterproof)
21. Temptu SB airbrush foundation (pro - water resistant)
22. model in a bottle spray (note - contains alcohol so check for potential irritation and shine)
23. Ben nye final seal (note - contains alcohol so check for potential irritation and shine)
24. Blue sealer (water resistant - check for shine)
25. Temptu pro concealer wheel (not waterproof but can be mixed with temptu SB foundation - which looks lovely on skin)

Information you MUST know when doing someones makeup - especially for weddings:

Blotting. Make sure you blot - lips, face etc... rather than laying down more powder (which never looks nice).

Blot lips after pencil. Reapply. Blot again. Lipstick. Blot. Lipstick. Blot. Lipstick. blot... etc....

Make Up For Ever super lip gloss really does adhere well to the lips. not to much now.
Look for strong pigments. this includes eyeshadows, lipsticks, etc...

Think about the setting you might be in - do you really need your makeup to me completely waterproof if you're just going shopping?

Remember sealers work great but some leave a shine to the shine. If you've applied shimmer blush, shimmer eyeshadows, shimmer lipstick, shimmer powder, shimmer blah blah blah and then a coat of sealer you might end up looking completely vinyl. Bare this in mind if you're using a sealer. Most sealers leave behind a shiny film. If you're going easy on shimmer and using a sealer, make sure the chest, shoulder, arms etc... are sealer too, even if they have no makeup on as the whole body will take on the same effect - ie - matte body, vinyl face etc... you want everything to look as one.

Note: rubbing any part of the body even with waterproof makeup can remove it. so any crying (weddings) strict instructions to not rub the eyes, but pat.

Hiya. Can u do a airbrush bridal makeup look please. My sister is getting married in two months. She is getting married abroad so she has to do her own makeup. It will be a Pakistani wedding, the dress is maroon with gold but we quite like Arabic style eyes. We have a iwata silver jet. And kett airbrush foundation in o3 r3 and kett hydro proof in r3. R3 is the perfect match for her if u could suggest any other products that you think will work well in a hot climate an the shade you think will m

I have been wanting to know what the best water proof or water resistant make up was for the longest time. I'm an aerial silk and trapeze performer and I get so sweaty during a routine that I have often have had my make up melt or run in places. Thank you so much for this amazing comprehensive list. What is the difference between waterproof and water resistant??? I need a foundation that would not smear all over someone else's clothes if im hugging them and etc. HELP!!!!
