You're right, I think that was what he meant too but Maternus' use of antiscia was terrible, in my opinion.

Hand's point is that there is a difference between a Generosity and a Reception. The Sun in Cancer and Moon in Leo is not a reception because they do not receive each other. It's a generosity, but the person with it won't get as many benefits one would get with a true reception.

Mars in Pisces and Venus in Capricorn, however, do receive each other because the signs sextile each other, thus creating a true reception.

Antiscia isn't necessarily an aspect, if the signs semi-sextile or inconjunct each other it doesn't count as a classical or traditional aspect. So Jupiter in Capricorn and Saturn in Sagittarius can't aspect each other, at least in ways that count, especially when it comes to traditional predictive methods.

True, planets in their detriment and fall can create a problem, but that really isn't relevant here. Peregrine in itself isn't always problem.

Antiscia isn't negative. He was probably referring to a peregrine Saturn in Sagittarius (if not at a later degree) and Jupiter in fall both being too weak to transfer strength.

I believe the reason he said that Jupiter in Capricorn and Saturn in Sagittarius is not a good example of what he was attempting to teach, at 6:50 , is because these two signs send an antiscia to each other. Antiscia is so often overlooked. Maternus gives a great lesson on them.
