  • The structure of the ghost train looks just like the one at Blackpool Pleasure Beach today, and I definitely recognise that thing at 3:25 from BPB.. It isn't the same ride, is it?

  • No it certainly isn't the same ride. Blackpool's Ghost Train was built in 1930 by Mr Emberton, I'm not sure when Morecambe's was built but I filmed this video in 1994 and regularly visited both parks, riding the Ghost Trains on many occasions. As for that thing at 3.25, Who Knows ???

  • I have put some highlights on youtube but the footage I have is a bit more extensive of the various rides as I used to visit the park every year and while my video recorder was in good working order I would drag it around with me !

  • has morecambe got a ghost train there now

  • Unfortunately all the rides were demolished and the land is awaiting re-development. A very sad loss in my opinion !!

  • This video brings back lots of happy memories, thanks for posting.

  • I remember that ride, I remember one time I was only 7 and the ride broke down, it had a complete power cut, I was sat in complete darkness for about 10-15 minutes until I realized that no one was coming to find me so I managed to get out of my car feel down the side of the wall until I felt a door knob open it and came out at the start of the ride, through a staff door which I remember correctly whichc had grim riper on the front of it

  • Aww,I'm from Morecambe.Too bad I was to young to ride anything :L

  • Morecambe is not even a shadow of what it used to be. The town fathers stuck a statue of Eric Morecambe up and expected the money to roll in - well, good as the statue is, Morecambe needs more. More investment, more sustained tourism projects.

  • That's absolutely fantastic footage. I grew up in the Morecambe area, and had many birthday parties and other great days out at Frontierland. I remember that ghost train as if I were on it yesterday. What a sad loss.

  • Never went here, glad you filmed it.

  • i come from ulverston and went their all the time love it.Its very sad to see morecambe now
