Here's Build Your Own Clone's deliciously awesome Leeds Fuzz! It's a clone of the Univox Super Fuzz and was used by Pete Townsend whilst he destroyed ear drums and gear without discretion. One of my first builds and it's a nice pedal. The internal trim is set to the most normal setting. My buddy Andrew played a Fender Squire Telecaster into a Laney Cub 10 Tube Amp (Tone 7, Volume 3, Gain 7). Enjoy!

  • I gotta ask the unasked questions. Have you compared it with a red one side by side and how does it compare ? This truly has become like THE Holy grail to me. I've been looking at these kits and I just can't take the heart brake if i solder it up and don't recognize that old sweet fuzzy sound

  • @zongongo I've never played an original. I bought this because I'm a huge Who fan and he'd turn this on while smashing up his gear. The video tone is what it is but keep in mind I'm using single coils and a tube amp. Your gear is going to make all the difference when it comes to these old fuzzes.

  • Where did you get those cool skinny sliver knobs?

  • @PhysicsForTheFuture Just take off the plastic knobs.

  • I'm tempted to build one of these now that we can get them here in the UK. That sounds great to me!

Easy to put together? I know nothing about electronics. Is this pedal standard (as comes) or did you mod it?

  • @boardkingboy first one I built so yeah you'll be fine. I didn't have any experience before I built this just watch videos on how to solder and practice on the "Confidence Boost" that BYOC gives you when you order your first kit. Warning*** this pedal has a mind of its own which is why I like it. Get comfortable with it and your gear before you take it on stage. GL

  • Please answer my question below on my comments on my page.

I will be eternally grateful !

  • Being a pathetic idiot that owned a perfect red and blue UNIVOX SUPER FUZZ, that I bought at a flea market back in about 1980 for A DOLLAR FIFTY !!! and loved all the way till about 2009, when I sold it on Ebay, at AUCTION !! for a measly $380.00 , because I needed MONEY!! dammit. NEVER EVER should have sold it , even for $800.00 !

  • i hate demos with no rhythm guitar and just a bunch of lead noodling. and how do you paint in the style of pete townshend?

  • BYOC is great! Especially if you get a thrill from soldering! Your finish is a lot better than mine. I went with a generic blue paint job.

  • I have made a ton of these BYOC's now they are kick ass! So great sounding, I spent thousands on boutique pedals before I discovered you could get most the same circuits for a quarter the price, cant say enough good things about them. The MAJOR problemn I have is that my paint jobs BLOW!!! I am gonna try your method- I went out and got a toaster oven and now I just need to know what Specific paint/primer/clearcoat you used? If you could shoot me a list that would be AWESOME- also GREAT VID

  • WOW... I REALLY love the BYOC-"Large-Beaver/Triangle-Muff"!!! But holy-cow THIS pedal sounds like crap. IMHO...
