Meet Derek Friday a.k.a Mr Friday - your
quintessential trust-fund baby with a
personality big enough to match his hefty
bank account. He must switch places with a
hardworking, deserving, hand-picked person
(swapee) every Friday. Why? In order to earn
his weekly trust fund cheque from his mother,
Mama Friday, who is desperately trying to teach
her frivolous son the value of hard work. In
return, the swapee is offered much needed
respite from their daily grind and an opportunity
to engage in a dream day designed personally
by the ever resourceful Mama Friday.
So while the swapee enjoys the high life,
Derek gets a taste of how the other half lives.
Problem is, Derek has never really worked a day
in his life and although his intentions are well
meaning, more often than not his efforts fall
short of the mark. Whether he is forced to feed
a venomous reptile at a zoo, slide into a ditch
collecting storm water samples or pull punches
at a kickboxing gym, Derek is always game to
face the challenge head on. After all, he has
no choice. The stakes are high, as Derek must
succeed because if theres no swap, theres no
cash and Derek is determined to keep himself
outfitted in designer duds.
