This is my own arrangement of this beautiful standard with which I fell in love last year after hearing Chris Botti perform it. The lyrics are haunting and beautiful. They concern someone who feels a profound emptiness and void in life because someone important is no longer there. The lyrics talk about how "it never entered my mind" that one day you would no longer be here with me.

  • I lived a long time, thinking "I don't like jazz", but lately I've changed my mind, some of it (not all!) is quite enjoyable, like this song, well played of you! Thank you for sharing!

  • @kornettisten1 Thanks very much. I also listened to your cornet version of "Song From A Secret Garden" and enjoyed it very much. You have a sensitivity that really enhances your arrangement of this song. I play trumpet myself as well, so I have a greater appreciation of what you are playing than the average "accordionist." :o) Thanks for listening.

  • I'm so thankful that I don't have Tommy Tunemans ear for music, as it hard enough to play music with good ears.... As always Joe, WONDERFUL....

  • @inthecracks hahaha thanks so much. Appreciate the support.

  • Thank you for posting this beautiful piece, which has appropriate meaning for me this particular day.

  • @kuleventil That's no problem fro me, just think of "Cry me a river", I know how to transponate ( heter det så på engelska?) ;)

  • @kornettisten1 I was actually thinking of you when I was listening to this. Im having problems making a good Backing Track of this. This is one of my favorite Jazz standard. Maybe i must try to make a piano backing of this.

  • Very nice. I would prefer it played in a more acoustic accordion style. That would rise it to a limitless standard. Do it if you can :)

  • Your arrangement of this beautiful song makes it even more beautiful….

  • Fantastico!!!
