It collapsed because those multi-millionaire CEOs gave into the auto unions every time they went on strike, or threatened to. The result was a retirement and a economic plan that could not be sustained. The same idiotic thinking is why our own government is spending beyond our means and will cripple us all. I would argue that the Republican party is do minated by those who think themselves morally and spiritually superior, the base being evangelists who firmly believe anyone who does not believe as they do will, you know, burn in hell for eternity or sort of explode into bits of flesh and bone via the Rapture. As for Detroit, Sarah Palin was the governor of a state whose rape rate is 2.5 times the national average and boasts the highest use of illicit drugs per capita.

I would prefer an idiot who talks to god than an idiot who thinks he is god.
