This song is fron Puja (prayer) section of Gitabitan. Here Tagore discloses a fatalistic nature, meaning he is willing to totally let himself go, following the will of God. The song symbolises God's passion as a stormy wind blowing on the sails of a tiny boat, representing the mortal being.

It is important to know Tagore's unique concept of the Deity as one with whom a corporeal intimacy was sought as a means of expressing ones love and devotion. In line with this concept, therefore, the visuals have been developed taking a more mundane view of Tagore's imagery.

  • @raatri1981 I'm glad you like it. Do you sing?

  • Beautiful... One of my favourite Tagore songs. Can you please post the lyrics separately?

  • @cymraeg27 The idea behind providing the lyrics in the video is to enable the viewer to simply pause the video and either write it down, OR do a [Alt][PrtSc] for copying and pasting the lyrics elsewhere. So, there you go!

  • Nice rendering with the Baul taste kept in tact. The ornamentations are not clear at all. Thank God no weeping.

  • @SuruchiSangeet Tagore songs are very lyric-centric and if you do care to understand the lyric and analyse it, you will note that Tagore had expressed a fatalistic view point, ergo leaving his destiny all upto fate. The graphics depict just that.
