A laparoscopic approach to supracervical hysterectomy as performed by Dr. Douglas Krell of the Albuquerque Health Partners gynecologic surgery team. This procedure has been modified numerous times since 2008 to reduce operating time and blood loss.

It's not pointless if you have chronic pelvic pain that is not responding to drug treatment, and you're looking to have a hysterectomy. I found this quite educational.

Just underwent this procedure myself two weeks ago. Thank you for this post - I really appreciate being able to watch exactly what happened to me. Not pointless at all - not for me, anyway. Thanks again.

Going to have this surgery in a couple weeks, interesting what technology can do these days. Makes me less nervous to have the procedure done.

Wow!3 weeks at home recovery from ( abdominal incision )hysterectomy cos I had endometriosis.Interesting to see what happen to me during surgery.Very educational.Thanks!

Hi does anyone if any bleeding occurs after the procedure? And if so, how long?

@bymyselfable. Typically there is very little vaginal bleeding in the first weeks after surgery. There is a 2-3% risk of monthly cyclic "spotting" after the procedure. There is a 1% risk of having to remove the cervix later.
