Maine Coon weighs 20 pounds

Maine Coons are the largest domestic cat breeds. This 20-pound male cat, Sasha, who was born December 1995, is lovable, comedic, protective, and loves to be groomed. He is a rescue. His momma, "Miss Kitty," was struck and killed by a car when Sasha was just a teacup sized kitty. He grew up to be an adorable companion. He comforts you when you're blue and he's always by your side. Even though he's huge, he doesn't eat that much, barely a cup of food a day. On a serious note, please adopt an animal from your local animal shelter, the humane society, a rescue group, or petfinder.com. They need you.

Nice plug for shelter cats. They really need somebody, and sometimes you can find a Maine Coon or mix. Largest cat I've heard of is a 4 foot (nose to tip of tail) Maine Coon.

@drinksmokelie Oh my word. That's some cat. I would love to see him or her. You know I got two full breed cats from the shelter. I also got my Norwegian Forest Cat from there also and they normally sell as kittens for $750.I'm sure the Maine Coon would sell for about that much too So I say always check the shelter first if you are thinking about buying a pet. It's even cheaper than going through the Humane Society. I just had to pay like $5 and promise to get her spayed.

@nc08638 Thank you so much. That cat will always have a special place in my heart. He had such a huge personality. I wish he was still here. He loved Christmas and laying underneath the Christmas tree. He was a trip. He even brought home the bacon and made me $40. He was a special kitty that would make your day. He would come running like a little dog when you called him. When he was being mischievous, I would say "Sasha" in a stern way and he would yell back "Meow" on cue. Funny.

Tuxedo cats can be even heavier than Coons, though usually not larger in size. My tuxedo cat was 22-23 pounds at his heaviest, but not even that fat. He was just very large boned and powerful. Broke my mothers leg in 3 places when he pulled her across the yard on his leash. To the vet, he was a "truck", rather than a cat. "oh, why don't you park your truck right up here on this table".

i had a cat it was massive found out latter it was a maine coon domestic short hair and small part bobcat he didnt catch mice he went into the field and caught rabbits

I don't think you should compare them that way. Tuxedo coat is a type of coat for bicolored cats and many breeds can have the tuxedo pattern, including the maine coons. Maybe your cat is one of the larger breeds that happened to have a tuxedo pattern.

They aren't on your back all the time like dogs, they don't need exercise, and they're just happy to be themselves. If I'm reincarnated, I want to come back as a big, easy going moggy like Sasha.

@amarige25 The thing is, we don't rescue them. They rescue us, at least Jay, my Maine Coon did that for me when I rescued him. As I said on your other video, Sasha will always be looking down on you. The video I thought you might like to see - my friend used this song too so I thought that was funny. Beautiful song for a beautiful cat.

I love big cats. I love my cat but he weighs only 6.6Kilos.
