This is my favourite version of this song. It was originally a hit in 1917 for artists such as Billy Murray and the American Quartet. It became a hit again around 1940 as sung by Wee Bonnie Baker. Did not chart, but released as a single in 1962.

  • I like Janie's voice...much like Sue Thompson's. Her Greasy Kid Stuff is a classic.

  • Agreed that this is a top version, maybe the best; maybe not. I also have it by The Andrews Sisters, Peggy Lee, Glenn Miller and LaVern Baker. However, my favorite is still the 1958 candy cane version by Kathy Linden.
