The unsteady flow around the Ahmed vehicle model is numerically solved for a Reynolds number of 4.25e6 based on the model length. The Ahmed vehicle model is a very simplified bluffbody which is frequently employed as a benchmark in vehicle aerodynamics. Slant angle is 12.5 degrees.     subject and we are interested in data about the Ahmed body. We plan to

    do an experimental and numerical study of Fluid-Structure-Interaction

  • do you have simulation of what happens if you install vortex generators just at the rear edge of the box shape vehicle. I want to know how the airflow would look like so I could know which part of the bus is suitable to install the vortex generator tabs.

  • @TogieTung Unfortunately no. We did this simulation long time ago. We now are planning to simulate the interaction of the vehicle dynamics with the air flow, in order to study the stability of such vehicles.

  • @mariostorti I might have, It was like 2 years back. The whole purpose of the project was to see whether we learned how to use ANSYS. I used it for finding the drag forces for two different sizes.
